The world of graphic design and art has been mired in copyright infringement cases in recent years. Famously, Disney and Apple's megalomanic fascism, hellbent on destroying everyone and everything that faintly resemble their brands; so, it's sort of refreshing to to see the roles reversed in a misguided, ideological
court case involving Seattle designers with a naive sense of fairness, against the Disney giant.
Basically, some designers hired by Disney (remembering the monolithic legal arm of their parent company) decided to steal the artwork of Seattle based art collective
Modern Dog Co. and adapt it for a t-shirt promoting a Disney movie to be sold in Target.
Modern Dog Co. has recently
sold their design studio in order to fund their quixotic lawsuit that seems to be going nowhere. So, If you also have a puerile understanding of how the world works, consider donating money to Modern Dog Co. https://www.friendsofmoderndog.com/
If you, however, stand with the Philistines all you have to do is turn on the TV or Hulu because it's all pretty much owned by
Disney.
