Drawing Tablet

I've been looking for a way to repurpose my iPad as a drawing tablet for Adobe Illustrator. After poring over several articles, the consensus seemed to be Air Display ($9.99). Air Display interfaces with your desktop or laptop and functions as a second monitor. Though the intention of Air Display isn't, solely, to make your iPad a drawing tablet, I've found that it's one of its best functions.

I'm able to drag an Illustrator window onto the iPad and freehand draw much more adeptly than is possible with a mouse and I use a stylus for even more control than is possible with my finger.

This is the first drawing I did with it:

It's surprisingly analogous to when I use a pen and pad:

Air Display isn't pressure sensitive and it certainly can't quite replace a dedicated drawing tablet for a seasoned user, but it's a great introduction to a drawing tablet at a significantly cheaper price.
